33-year-old Cassie Maria Plair was found by first responders passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle at exit 92 on I-65 in the very early hours of Monday Morning. She was described as “slumped over with her mouth open” by callers to 911, and when officers arrived, they couldn’t wake her despite many minutes of attempts. As the vehicle was still in drive, first responders had to carefully secure the vehicle from moving and then used a bright strobing light which eventually worked as Plair opened her eyes. When asked where she was, she explained that she had just been pulled over for a traffic stop, as if everything was perfectly normal, and she had no concept of the lost time. She then became verbally combative and argumentative, according to officers on the scene. She even stated, “Do you realize the people driving past are more drunk than I am? She admitted to having one vodka drink earlier and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. As she was being booked into DCSO, she surrendered a small baggie containing a white powdery substance to officers.

Craig Toney causes $20K of damages to Opryland hotel during assault of girlfriend and stepfather

26-year-old Robert “Craig” Toney was jailed this weekend on multiple charges of domestic assault and vandalism after a night at the Opryland Hotel left the rural Georgia family in a bloody brawl. Craig initially was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend, Kelsea Lafferty Toney, and he grabbed her by the throat, strangling her, knocking her to the bed, and then to the floor, assaulting her the entire time. Craig’s stepfather, Ray Adkins, attempted to intervene, and Craig punched him in the mouth, causing visible injuries. Damages to the hotel room, the exterior hallway, the blood-soaked carpets, walls, beds, hallway, and wallpaper, are estimated to be up to $20,000.

Musician Jered Ames charged with DUI after leaving West Nashville dive bar Betty’s Grill

Metro Police say 38-year-old Jerry Bachner, better known as musician ‘Jered Ames’ was involved in an accident with another vehicle near 51st Ave N & Indiana Ave in the early hours of Saturday morning. While describing how the accident occurred to police, they reported smelling alcohol coming from Bachner, along with his slurred speech during the conversation. He admitted to consuming “4-5” alcoholic drinks at the local dive bar, Betty’s Grill, just a couple of blocks away from the crash site. Bachner performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking, where he was charged with DUI.

Stephen Brandon assaults boyfriend with wallet, leaving him bloody and injured

48-year-old Stephen Andrew Brandon was at a Clarksville Pike hotel with his lover, Anthony Patrick Finn, when an argument erupted over a wallet. Stephen left the room with Patrick’s wallet, mistaking it for his own. As soon as he noticed the mistake, he says he returned to the room, and an argument began. The argument escalated until Stephen became so upset he threw the wallet at Patrick’s face, resulting in minor injuries and bleeding. Patrick struck him back twice; however, Brandon was deemed to be the primary aggressor and was taken into custody, charged with domestic assault with bodily injury.

Florida man charged with assault of ex-wife inside Nashville hotel — Bradley Olsen

Metro Nashville Police responded to the Hampton Inn at Opryland on August 27th after someone called to report a man actively assaulting who was believed to be his wife and strangling her. When officers arrived, 56-year-old Bradley Keith Olsen had already fled the scene. The victim, Sacha Ross, stated she was in town looking at houses in order to move from Florida to Tennessee and had invited her ex-husband, Olsen, over for the weekend to see if things could be rekindled between them. It wasn’t long before that question was answered as an argument started in the bathroom over who would take her dog out. She says he assaulted her multiple time and then beat her with an iPad as she moved to the bed. Eventually, she says he pushed her against a wall and lifted her up by her neck, causing her problems breathing. Officers spoke with Olson via the phone, and he refused to return to the hotel and stated he might just keep her dog. He was eventually booked into custody on September 3rd.

Nashville Police charge teen with felony after he borrows basketball from a school — Justin Mealer

Metro Nashville Police charged 19-year-old Justin Mealer with felony burglary after he entered an unlocked door of Fall-Hamilton Elementary School Sunday afternoon and borrowed a basketball so he and his friends could play on the nearby basketball court. The neighborhood teen with no criminal history openly admits to going inside the neighborhood school and locating a basketball, stating he entered through an unlocked cafeteria door. School Security Officer Austin Dubuc that the door may not have been properly latched, but the school was closed for operations. At the time of Mealer’s arrest by MNPD Officer Nicholas Alan Carroll, he was carrying a basketball, a box fan, and popsicles for the boys.

Employee Jon Quest Parker assaults Greyhound Passenger who records his rudeness

A Greyhound bus passenger was upset about a delay in Nashville on July 23rd and was asking staff about being compensated for the delay. 27-year-old employee Jon Quest Parker demanded she step aside and that she would not be getting back on the bus. As she began to record the interaction with her cell phone, Parker became upset and told her she was not allowed to videotape inside the facility as it was against policy. When she refused to stop, Parker called the police, and while waiting for officers to arrive, he walked past the victim in what is described as a “clearly irritated” manner and struck her in the right forearm, purposefully knocking the phone from her hand. He was cited for assault and was booked on that citation this week.

DUI: Hope Jenkins says she had “two shots” of liquor prior to crash

Police say 23-year-old Hope Alexander Jenkins was involved in an automobile crash just before midnight on August 31st on Springfield Highway. When officers arrived, they immediately noticed an open bottle of vodka on the floorboard of the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Jenkins. Jenkins, who admitted to drinking”two shots” of liquor before driving, performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later consented to a blood draw. She also has a prior DUI conviction in 2018, along with a suspended license.

Local woman Sharan Miles declared drunk & disorderly inside Nashville Airport

Airport Police responded to the ‘True to Tennessee’ retail store inside the Nashville International Airport on August 30th for a welfare check. Officers arrived and were directed to Tootsie’s bar, where they found 48-year-old Shara Ann Miles sitting inside. She was identified as the woman who had been staggering through the retail store and reeked of alcohol and became belligerent with the officer while yelling and loudly cursing inside the bar. Due to her behavior and inability to care for herself, Miles was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

51-year-old Jamie Beeman was jailed this week on an outstanding warrant charging her with theft from a Target store in April. She reportedly entered Target and selected various items of children’s clothing and four cartridges of printer ink. She concealed all of the printer ink and only scanned a few of the clothing items at the self-checkout. The total value of the items she didn’t pay for was $241.73.

Nancy Kacena, 71, says she took Hyrdocodone hours before crashing into parked vehicle

Vanderbilt University Police responded to a multi-car crash just after 2 p.m. Wednesday on 25th Ave S. near Garland, where a gray BMW struck a red Chevy pickup truck that was parked on the sidewalk as workers were performing maintenance. The driver of the BMW, 71-year-old Nancy Carr Kacena, stated she didn’t know what happened to cause the crash and was unable to locate the “park” button on her vehicle when asked to engage it. She stated she had not consumed any alcohol but did take other medication, including prescribed Hydrocodone. She was unable to stand on her own and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Kacena was charged with DUI and transported to booking.

Taneka Hayden charged after stabbing boyfriend in back at Dickerson Pike Sonic

31-year-old Taneka Hayden remains jailed on a $51,000 bond after police say she stabbed her boyfriend, Jacob Reimann, in the back with a green kitchen knife at the Sonic on Dickerson Pike, which officers eventually retrieved from her bra and it was blood-covered. The victim says the couple has been dating for approximately four years, and while they were at Sonic, a car drove by and someone inside it “cat called her using a racial slur.” She believed her boyfriend was taking up for the person in the vehicle and began to assault Reimann with punches to the face and then almost immediately stabbed him in the back, as confirmed by witnesses at the location. During an interview, Hayden claimed the stabbing was in self-defense, claiming he had punched her first, but witness accounts disputed this version of events.

Samuel Blackwell exits car & runs down interstate after 9 Jack & Cokes at comedy show

Metro Nashville Police say 32-year-old Samuel Blackwell drank approximately 9 Jack & Coke drinks at the Kelsey Dixon Comedy Night at Twin Kegs 2 late Thursday. After the show, he was traveling home on I-40 with his girlfriend, Brayden Ezell, driving. She says he became “irrationally upset” with her, and she stopped the vehicle in the middle of a lane of traffic on the interstate. Blackwell exited the vehicle and began running away from the vehicle, which is when officers arrived to find him running down a lane of travel in the direction of the next exit. Blackwell was detained and determined to be extremely intoxicated. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

The store’s clerk, 26-year-old Daniel Marchesi, who is currently out on bond for a DUI charge, reportedly sold her the 750 ml bottle while the transaction was witnessed by TABC Special Agent Williams. He is cited for selling alcohol to a minor.

Jez Castillo jailed for harassment of ex-girlfriend, attempting to break into her home

Metro Nashville Police responded to a home on 11th Ave N. on Monday after Rachel Elrod called to report her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Jezreel Castillo, was attempting to gain entry to her home. Castillo was able to make entry into the attached garage but was unable to make entry into the living area as the interior door lock was engaged. Elrod says Castillo then began to text and call her repeatedly — 15 times within 30 minutes in a threatening and harassing manner, leaving her in fear for her life. He fled prior to police arriving but was booked on the charges a few hours later.

Police: Man raised his head to watch oncoming train before it ran over him Friday in Madison

Metro Nashville Police say a 43-year-old man appears to have committed suicide Friday morning as he was struck and killed by a train near the Nesbitt Lane Crossing in Madison at approximately 1:15 a.m. Detectives interviewed the train crew and reviewed footage from the train’s forward-facing camera. The footage shows the man lying on the tracks alone, and he is seen raising his head to watch the oncoming train before laying back down on the tracks as the train approaches him. Police say his body did not have any other obvious injuries other than those consistent with having been run over by a train.

Brittany Cline charged with DUI in Belle Meade — White Claws & Modello Tallboy open in vehicle

30-year-old Brittany Nicole Cline was stopped by Belle Meade Police just after 1 a.m. Friday due to an expired tag on her vehicle. As Officer Haley Doty spoke with Cline during the traffic stop, she could smell alcohol coming from Cline’s breath and noticed a Modelo tallboy in the center cup holder and 4 empty White Claw cans along with a variety pack of unopened cans. Cline performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was unable to provide a proper sample for a breathalyzer, despite three attempts. She was charged with DUI and transported to booking.

Duo charged with guns & drugs — Nicole Madden & Edwin Santiago

Nashville detectives on Thursday executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the residence of Nicole Madden (of Renee’s Cakes), 29, at 6625 Charlotte Pike, which resulted in the seizure of 58 marijuana plants, 42 grams of cocaine, three rifles, four handguns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and $4,050 cash.

Madden is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to sell cocaine, and gun possession during the commission of a felony. She is jailed on a $55,000 bond. Detectives had been working to locate convicted felon (robbery) Edwin Santiago Jr., 42, when they saw him leaving Madden’s residence. Santiago was arrested on an outstanding federal gun charge stemming from his September 2021 arrest by MNPD detectives on a firearms charge.

She was booked on a new outstanding citation this week which details her entering a dressing room at the mall store with multiple items from the sales floor and concealing the items on her person and attempting to exit the building. During a search, $432.43 in merchandise was recovered.

27-year-old Jaleel Love Boyce showed up on the front porch of the mother of his child, Emilia Baird. He was pacing back and forth, demanding to be let inside. Prior to his arrival, he texted her that he was coming over, and she replied ‘no’ multiple times. Despite the denial, he arrived, paced, and banged on the door while demanding to be let inside. Video footage of the incident shows him shoulder-checking the door, stating, “I will break the door down, I will get in at all costs, I will go to jail over this!” Baird states she was in fear for her safety and the safety of her child. Officers arrived and took him into custody, charging him with domestic assault/fear of bodily injury.

Actors say Clarksville’s Roxy Theatre Director Ryan Bowie harassed, stalked, touched without consent

An actor at the Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville says he and a dozen others have been victims of harassment and inappropriate conduct by Director Ryan Bowie for at least the past year, with some complaints going back much further. In January, after several actors detailed formal complaints, the theatre’s Board of Directors & the Executive Committee admitted “mistakes have been made” and determined that Bowie, along with other staff, would enroll in “extensive HR training,” and someone on-site would be trained as an “Intimacy Choreographer.” Additionally, an HR Director would be appointed. Now that the city is directly involved with the theatre and its liability, the actors, and some city council members, are still concerned about ongoing issues at the downtown Clarksville landmark and are calling for action — they want Bowie removed as the Executive Director, weary of several lawsuit threats involving his actions.
