Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville found 22-year-old Deandre Rashawn Calvert drunk and disorderly late Saturday night. They say he was provoking other downtown patrons and was an annoyance to the usual downtown flow. Due to his heavily intoxicated state and inability to care for himself, he was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Woman says ex-boyfriend Elijah Leavens bit her middle finger at 404 Bar & Grill

Vanessa Scales says she was at 404 Bar & Grill with a group of friends, while her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Elijah Leavens, was also there with another group of people. She claims Elijah “was jealous of her new boyfriend” and started an argument with the new beau. When she stepped in between them to de-escalate the situation, she says Elijah became aggressive and bit her middle finger on her left hand. An arrest warrant did not explicitly state why a single middle finger on her left hand was the only one available for biting.

Brentwood man charged in assault of his son — Stephane Francois arrested

Police took 61-year-old Stephane Francois, of Brentwood, into custody Monday after a verbal argument with his son, Charles Francois, escalated into a physical altercation. The victim and his father both gave the same account of events, recalling that Stephane threw his son down onto the ground. Stephane told officers he was responsible for the assault, and police documented injuries on the right side of the victim’s face.

Man strangles boyfriend; breaks turn-signal & wiper levers from steering column of his car — Nyitrell Debardelaben

23-year-old Nyitrell Debardelaben was driving on Gallatin Pike when he got into an argument with his lover, Jordan Stone. Nyitrell, who goes by the nickname ‘Moo Moo’ on social media, stopped the car and went into a business. When he came back outside, Jordan says Nyitrell reached through the passenger-side window, grabbed his shirt, clawed at his face, and strangled him with one of his hands. As Jordan called 911, Nyitrell returned to the driver’s side of the vehicle and broke off the levers from the steering column that operated the turn signals and the windshield wipers. Police arrived and documented bruising and cuts on the victim’s neck and face.

36-year-old Shane Woods reportedly bothered both staff and other guests at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Nashville Vanderbilt on Division Street late Saturday evening. Police arrived to find him unsteady on his feet and slurring all the words he attempted to use. He claimed to have only drank two alcoholic beverages, however upon further investigation, officers asked him to stand up straight — at which point he almost fell face forward to the ground. Unable to locate any friends or family to assist him, officers transported him to booking, where he was charged with public intoxication.

Woman says David Cox touched her inappropriately, MNPD says he’s just drunk and burpy

A woman flagged down Metro Nashville Police Officer James Harber and told him that a man identified as 21-year-old David Cox was touching her inappropriately and without her consent while inside Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville, and he continued despite being told to stop multiple times. Officer Harber placed Cox in the rear of his patrol car, where he noted he “belched continuously.” Officer Harber noted that “due to the actions of the defendant and his obvious intoxicated condition,” he was charged with public intoxication. He was transported to booking, where he stayed for the standard eight-hour hold, at which time he was released with charges dismissed.

Police say Alexander Bevis was drunk and belligerent on Broadway in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville observed 27-year-old Alexander Bevis stumbling into the roadway near Broadway & 1st Ave this weekend. Officers made contact to keep him out of the roadway and safe, and immediately noticed his extreme level of intoxication, describing him as “belligerent.” Unable to care for himself in his current state, and unable to locate his friends or family, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Melvin Reed Jr charged with egging cars & dealing drugs

18-year-old Melvin Reed Jr was quickly identified as one of the individuals throwing eggs at cars on 25th Ave. North. After meeting with the victim, who was in her car that was “clearly covered with eggs, yolks, and shells.” Reed was found a short distance away, along with another individual. The egging victim also reported he was carrying a gun, though a gun was never recovered. In fact, nothing was discovered on his person during an initial search, so the officer conducted a second pat-down before placing him in the patrol car, just to make sure he didn’t miss anything. During that second search, he located $74 in small bills, a small bag with six Oxycodone pills, a flip phone, and an iPhone.

Trevor Forbess avoids being booked on state citation for four years… until this week

In January of 2018, police say 29-year-old Trevor Forbess was pulled over on Woodland Street in East Nashville due to expired tags on his vehicle. Upon checking his driver’s license, Officer James Smith discovered it was suspended. He then issued Forbess a state citation to self-book on the charge, however, Forbes never did. Four years later, Trevor Forbess was booked into the jail this week on the outstanding warrant.

Luke Bryan’s Bar bouncers pin an “unruly” man to the ground for several minutes — Shane Anthony Peters arrested

Metro Nashville Police received a call on Thursday mid-day, reporting that staff of Luke Bryan’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville had a man pinned to the ground and needed assistance. Officers arrived to find 40-year-old Shane Peters still being held to the ground. Security staff stated he was being unruly and was asked to leave but refused to do so. When he became combative, he was taken to the ground to await the arrival of the police. Peters told police he had been drinking during the day and didn’t like how staff approached him. He was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

DUI: Nashville Realtor Rob Mize denies drinking before crash; police say they had to hold him upright to stand

38-year-old Nashville Realtor Rob Mize reeked of alcohol, according to police, as they encountered him at his wrecked vehicle near West End Ave & Natchez Trace, where he had hit the curb and damaged his right side tire and bumper. He stepped out of his vehicle as officers approached, and he stumbled around the vehicle and talked with slurred speech. He told officers he believed someone had hit him and asked if they had seen anyone else in the area. He claimed he had nothing to drink and had been “with friends down the street” but would not be more specific. Police say Mize was so intoxicated they had to hold him upright while he was being searched incident to arrest.

Joseph Crutchfield charged with drag racing & marijuana in Nashville’s street racing initiative crackdown

Metro Nashville Police Officers working the “Street Racing Initiative” say they observed 24-year-old Joseph Crutchfield III racing another vehicle and passing cars on Murfreesboro Pike near Morton Lane. He was traveling at high rates of speed. Police caught up with him on the 3700 block of Nolensville Pike and conducted a traffic stop to take him into custody. During an inventory search of his vehicle, a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia was located, for which he was also charged.

Katie Case charged with yet another DUI in Nashville. Court says $5K bond, DCSO gives #PreTrialRelease

In 2006, 39-year-old Katie Case was charged with DUI, eventually pleading down to a reckless endangerment charge. In 2018, she was charged with another DUI, which was also eventually lessened to reckless endangerment. Now, in May of 2022, she once again faces a new DUI charge, however, in the eyes of the court, it’s technically her very first DUI all over again, and she’s never received any actual consequences from her prior actions. In this case, officers observed Katie Case swerving and honking with no other vehicles around her, and drove all the way up onto the curb when she was pulled over. She told officers she had “two shots” before driving, and police say she was heavily intoxicated and performed poorly on each and every field sobriety test. Inside the car with her was an open 16oz bottle of Michelob Ultra and six plastic 1oz shooters of Fireball liquor.

Shakia Davidson jailed after giving false information to the DMV to obtain a driver’s license

Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol were dispatched to the state’s DMV/Driver Services Center downtown on 7th Ave on Wednesday after an alert employee noticed 20-year-old Shakia Davidson was attempting to obtain a duplicate driver’s license using false information & documents. Examiner Selakia Shaw stated that Davidson gave false information to the state center and signed the application stating it was her correct and own information. When the examiner pulled up the photo on file for the information she listed on the application, it was obvious the photo did not match Davidson. Davidson admitted to the crime.

Trey Faulk booked on vandalism citation for kicking a car after an argument

21-year-old Trey Faulk was jailed this week on an outstanding citation, charging him with vandalism. Police say on March 11th, Faulk got into an argument with another person at a Mapco on Stewarts Ferry Pike. Despite the other party leaving the scene to de-escalate the situation, Fault followed them to the adjacent Thornton’s to continue the argument, where he kicked the victim’s car door.

A Nashville city bus crashed into a 77-year-old man’s car; the city jailed him when he got upset about the towing fee — Bennie Lee

A Metro Nashville WeGo Public Transit bus crashed into 77-year-old Bennie Lee’s vehicle on May 4th. Metro Nashville Police arrived at the scene, they demanded his vehicle be immediately towed due to the location and rush hour traffic. They said the vehicle would have to be towed to the city-partnered tow lot, and told him the costs he would be charged, however, Bennie Lee refused and insisted his vehicle would only be towed to his home, but that shouldn’t have to pay for it, as the city bus struck him. He then stood near the vehicle and blocked the way of the tow truck that the city had dispatched to remove the vehicle from the roadway. Officers contacted public works, who declined to assist in changing the tire so it could maybe just be driven away, stating the location was too dangerous. Police eventually arrested the man and charged him with disorderly conduct so they could tow the car off the roadway.

Child abuse: man cut child’s hands with clippers, attempted to cut his hair; Jerome Nnanwude arrested

56-year-old Jerome Nnanwude is charged with child abuse of his 16-year-old son, after finding him in possession of an unknown cell phone and durag as be picked him up from school. When the two arrived home, Jerome grabbed electric hair clippers and attempted to restrain his son and cut off all of his hair. The child resisted and tried to escape the room. His father, Jerome, then struck him on his hands repeatedly with the electric clipper’s teeth, repeatedly cutting the child’s hands. The child emailed his school that evening, stating he was afraid of his father and he had just been assaulted and disclosed about the cuts and bruises on his body. The following day, police documented the victim’s injuries and learned that the child’s mother, Helen Nnanwude, witnessed the assault, and eventually made her husband stop the assault due to the child’s injuries.

Dedricka Norris told MNPD officers to “suck her d*-k”; offered to “knock them out” in battle

24-year-old Dedricka Norris was causing a scene outside her girlfriend’s Briarwick Drive home on May 4th, yelling and screaming for her girlfriend to come outside. Despite multiple friends and family attempting to escort her away and de-escalate the situation, she was not going quietly. When police arrived and decided she would not leave on her own, they directed her to place her hands behind her back, to which she replied: “suck my d*-k!”

As officers reached for her arm, she pulled back, assumed a fighting stance, and screamed she would “knock you out!” to one officer. Officers presented a taser in hopes she would comply, however, she did not, and they decided to wrap her arms and take her to the ground. While on the ground, Norris attempted to bite the officers. Once in cuffs and while in the process of helping her to her feet, she swung her legs, striking officers in their upper legs. Finally, she was placed in a patrol car, where officers claim she smashed her own head against the partition several times, injuring herself. She could not be buckled in, due to fear of being bitten.

Jevin Lee House charged in violent attack of ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend

28-year-old Jevin Lee House was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on multiple outstanding felony warrants after police say he broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend, Kazlynn Lapolice, and violently attacked both her and her current boyfriend, Cooper Clutter, who showed up and surprised him. Cooper arrived to visit Kazlynn and noticed Jevin at the residence, at which time he demanded that he leave. Jevin then punched Cooper in the face multiple times, leaving him bloody and with a black eye. Jazlynn then arrived home, and she says Jevin immediately attacked her, strangling her — she didn’t wake up until officers were already on the scene. Officers documented multiple severe injuries to Jazlynn. Damage to the home also included a shattered back door and a broken bedroom door. Jevin fled before police arrived.

Elias Olea snorts meth, smashes angel, says he’s opening & closing gates of hell in Madison

30-year-old Elias Olea told Nashville police he snorted “a whole bunch of crystal meth” and was “opening and closing the gates of hell” after he ripped the screen off a window and smashed out three glass window panes of a home on Gibson Drive. He also destroyed the resident’s garden angel. Officers located him barefoot and clenching his shorts tightly with both hands. He is charged with vandalism and public intoxication. Olea was indicted in 2018 for a 2009 First Degree Murder case, however, in 2021, Glenn Funk’s office nolled the case.

Michael Robertson Jr. charged with felony mail theft in East Nashville

30-year-old Michael Robertson Jr. is charged with felony theft of mail and theft of property after police say in January, he watched an East Nashville man place a package in a package dropbox near S. 11th & Russell Street. Moments later, Robertson took the man’s package, which contained $5,100 of sports trading cards, and several others, out of the dropbox. Investigators found that Robertson had sold the now stolen cards the following day to Athlon Sports for $850. 10 of the 12 stolen cards were recovered by detectives in February. Warrants were issued for the arrest of Robertson, and he was booked into custody on May 3rd.

KY man Dustin Swann fights at FGL House, pushes cop in the chest, resists arrest

Metro Nashville Police found 25-year-old Dustin Swann, described as a bloody ginger with a ripped shirt, near 3rd & Demonbreun in downtown Nashville, where he had stumbled after fighting with multiple patrons at the FGL House bar. When Officer Forrest Punke approached the heavily intoxicated man, Swann pushed Punke in the chest with his hands, knocking him backward with substantial force. He also battled with Officer Joshua Zambrano-Vera as he attempted to place him into custody. Eventually secured by cuffs, Swann continued to be hostile and shout at patrons.
