52-year-old Dawn Starr was visiting Nashville from Eagle Rock, Missouri, with her family when late Thursday night police responded to their AirBNB on Phillips Street for a reported domestic assault, where her children reported she had assaulted them. The victims (her children) and multiple other witnesses were “out partying” in Nashville when they all confirm the mother, Dawn Starr, began to use racial slurs in public. The children say they demanded their mother stop speaking in that manner, and an argument ensued.

Jonathan Cordon jailed after unable to pay $508 tab at Kid Rock’s Bar in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police say 30-year-old Jonathan Cordon, of La Vergne, was unable to pay his $508.53 bar tab at Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville Thursday morning. Police initially responded to the venue after Cordon continued to re-enter the bar after being removed by security staff for fighting other patrons. He kept sneaking in through a window and was removed twice already when police came to assist. They observed him being belligerent and extremely intoxicated. As they placed him in the patrol car to be transported to booking, bar staff alerted officers the credit card was declined. Cordon said he had no other way to pay the bill, and Kid Rock’s bar wished to prosecute for the unpaid tab.

Ben Hardin charged with assault of his stepdaughter; his wife says the force used was “unnecessary”

50-year-old Benjamin Hardin, a Metro Nashville employee, is charged with the domestic assault of his stepdaughter. The victim says she was in an argument with her mother, Sonya, when Ben intervened by grabbing her by the neck, squeezing her, and forcing her to the ground. On the way to the ground, her head hit a table, and he reportedly then pinned her to the ground while shouting at her. Ben claims he only stepped in when Sonya looked at him during the altercation and stated, “You need to mediate this!” Ben reportedly told the victim, “This is my house!” while standing nose-to-nose with her, and shortly before taking her to the ground, she responded, “What are you going to do about it?” He claims he proactively took her to the ground to prevent her from assaulting him. Sonya told police the physical force Ben used was “unnecessary,” and she had to pull him off the victim to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Krista Welsh locks herself in Night Court bathroom with boyfriend’s prescriptions

45-year-old Krista Welsh locked herself into the bathroom at Night Court in downtown Nashville Sunday afternoon and refused to come out or open the door despite repeated requests by security and police. Eventually, Nashville Fire used a screwdriver to defeat the locked door and MNPD placed her into custody for disorderly conduct. During a search of her purse, officers found four pill bottles bearing the name of ‘Louis Fendley”, who she says is an “old friend” that left them in her purse. According to multiple social media accounts, the two are in a romantic relationship. The pills in the bottlers were Baclofen (a muscle relaxer), Bupropion, Clonidine, and Lisinopril. She was additionally charged with drug possession without a prescription.

Danielle Smithgall threatens to murder her boyfriend, Coty Rick; per police

Coty Rick called police on May 15th about his girlfriend, 33-year-old Danielle Smithgall, being disorderly amid a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and as they approached the door they heard Smithgall scream “I’m going to fucking murder you!” Officers made contact with Rick to check on his safety, and took Smithgall into custody, charging her with domestic assault. A few days later they were dispatched to another altercation between the two. Although there was no assault alleged during the second incident, she was in violation of her bond conditions which don’t allow her to be in contact with the victim. She was also booked into custody.

Eli Tennant charged after tossing girlfriend to the ground, drunkenly explaining the rules of pool to her

24-year-old Eli Tennant was jailed this week on an outstanding warrant from February, charging him with the domestic assault of his girlfriend, Grace Ivy Jameson, tossing her to the ground after drunkenly explaining the rules of the game of pool to her. Multiple witnesses are the bar that night say Eli was drunk when he arrived at the location, and he was yelling while explaining the rules of pool to his girlfriend. When she went outside to get some space, he followed her outside while berating her for walking away, and prepared to toss his drink on her until she blocked it, making it spill, which only further frustrated Tennant. He reportedly tossed her to the ground, leaving her with scrapes on her knees and hands, and was about to kick her until bystanders stopped the assault. Eli fled the scene before police arrived, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

DUI: Mark Powell says he may have hallucinated seeing a deer on interstate & crashing into a car

52-year-old Mark Powell was driving on I-24 just before lunch Tuesday as he left his lane and made contact with another vehicle, causing them both to pull to the side of the interstate to file a report. The driver of the impacted vehicle contacted THP, stating that Powell was “not acting right” and was possibly intoxicated. Trooper Priest arrived and Powell claimed there was a deer on the interstate and he swerved to avoid it, but was unable to do so and impacted the deer. However, the other driver stated no deer was present. He then said he ran into the truck and not the deer, then seemed really confused about dates and times, and was holding onto his car for balance. He admitted to taking Xanax and Oxycodone, and states his medicines sometimes cause him to hallucinate.

David Crow charged after dragging another man inside his home, taking his phone, assaulting him

36-year-old David Crow is charged with the domestic assault of Chris Platt after neighbors reported they observed Crow drag Platt back inside the residence after he had escaped out of the back door to scream for the neighbors to call 911. The couple had been in an argument that got heated, and Crow took Platt’s phone and refused to let him leave the residence. Once he got Platt back inside, he dragged him across the floor back to the living room but claimed it was “for his own well-being.” Officers documented a golf ball sized known and cuts on the victim’s forehead and bruising and cuts on his arm.

Victoria Craig charged in DUI crash with open bottle of wine & marijuana in car

21-year-old Victoria Craig was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Sunday morning after police observed her crash her vehicle onBrick Church Pike. Craig was driving, with Allison Reese in the passenger seat. They ran a red light and struck a vehicle driven by Karl Batson. All three were transported for medical evaluation and treatment of minor injuries. While inventorying Craig’s car for towing, officers located a half-empty bottle of White Zinfandel in the driver’s cupholder, a bottle of Cosmopolitan Effen Vodka in the passenger side floorboard, and a bag of marijuana in the other cupholder. During an interview, Craig admitted to drinking shots and smoking marijuana prior to driving.

Gerik Pennock charged with DUI in downtown Nashville near Justice Center / Jail Booking

Metro Nashville Police say first responders found 32-year-old Gerik Pennock passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle at 200 James Robertson Parkway in downtown Nashville Monday night. Nashville Fire had had him loaded into their unit for evaluation when officers arrived and found an open container of alcohol in the black Jetta, which was registered to Pennock. There was only about 1/4th of the bottle remaining. Pennock admitted to drinking prior to driving but would not state how much he had consumed. He has a prior DUI conviction in Michigan.

Tourist Emery Thompson sucker punches man after a downtown Nashville fight ends

Metro Nashville Police working the downtown Nashville Entertainment District Initiative (EDI) say 44-year-old Emery Thompson was fighting another man near 5th & Broadway just before midnight Friday night. The fight seemingly ended as officers approached the two involved parties. As the other man was not looking, Thompson suddenly sucker-punched him after the fight was finished by all accepted man-code standards. Officers understood their assignment and took the tourist into custody.

Chester Campbell pawned over $10K of his ex-girlfriend’s jewelry using his own ID

57-year-old Chester Darren Campbell is being held on a $25,000 bond after being jailed this week on an outstanding felony theft warrant from 2018. His ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Brown, says she noticed several pieces of jewelry had gone missing from her bedroom. She stated her ex-boyfriend, Campbell, had been staying with her for several months since the breakup, and they had an on-and-off-again relationship. She also states he had stolen from her in the past. With him being the only other person with access to her bedroom, an investigation was launched, and it was discovered Campbell had pawned several pieces of the victim’s jewelry at pawn shops throughout both Tennessee and Kentucky, all while using his own photo ID. The value of the stolen jewelry is over $10,000.

Sean Nesbitt says he stopped to snort cocaine and drink some beer before crashing into a retaining wall

46-year-old Sean Nesbitt was spotted by Marissa Fernandez driving a large white van and swerving between lanes shortly before he struck the right-hand barrier five times and eventually crashed on I-440 underneath the Nolensville Road overpass. Fernandez rand to assist him after the crash and found him behind the wheel and unresponsive. Medics arrived moments later and administered NARCAN, which brought Nesbitt back to reality. Inside the vehicle, there was also an open beer can with condensation on it. Nesbitt later admitted to stopping at a gas station prior to the crash, where he snorted cocaine and bought and drank some of a beer.

Unique Chambers was “extremely combative” with police after fighting another female in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police say they encountered 21-year-old Unique Chambers near 4th & Broadway in downtown Nashville, fighting Mikianna Burns just before 2 a.m. Saturday. Chambers had to be forcibly detained. and was extremely uncooperative and combative with police throughout their interactions. She reportedly attacked one officer as he came up to stop the fight; however, she says she wasn’t aware he was an officer coming up behind her at the time.

Dustin Christopher Slade, downtown: drunk, fought, fled, freed.

Officers working the EDI (Entertainment District Initiative) in downtown Nashville Friday observed 32-year-old Dustin Christopher Slade in a fight with another person at 5th & Broadway. While the other party didn’t wish to prosecute for the assault, officers determined Slade was too intoxicated to care for himself and attempted to place him into custody for public intoxication. Initially, Slade ran from the scene; however, officers were able to catch up with him a short distance away.

Michael Riedel determined to party at Honky Tonk Central; punches a bouncer after being kicked out

Security at Honky Tonk Central on Broadway in downtown Nashville escorted 37-year-old Michael Riedel out of the venue for being disorderly, and he continued to attempt to come back inside. As he was being removed a subsequent time, he reportedly punched one of the bouncers. Metro Nashville Police arrived to assist and observed Riedel swaying on his feet and obviously overly intoxicated to the point he was unable to spell his own name. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Antioch: Taqueria El Millon reused pepper salad already served to another customer, per Health Dept

The Tennessee Department of Health conducted a routine inspection of Taqueria El Millon #3 at 5325 Mt. View Road in Antioch on Thursday. Among the violations that earned the restaurant a score of 65 on the inspection: An employee reused leftover pepper salad that wasn’t eaten by a customer and served it to another. Employees were also washing their hands using only water, no soap.
