Metro Police say 26-year-old Brian Best tossed his friend’s shoe into a crowd of people walking on Broadway in downtown Nashville after he had been drinking at Honky Tonk Central. He initially came to the attention of police after fighting with another person over an Uber ride, but the other person left the area when police arrived. Brian continued to shout and curse at police, and refused attempts to calm the situation. His girlfriend, Amberly Comeau confirmed he was intoxicated to police.

Adam Spurling charged after being drunk and disorderly in downtown Nashville

25-year-old Adam Spurling was at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row reportedly being aggressive with staff and patrons. When asked to leave the area by Metro Nashville Police, Spurling refused and continued to be disruptive. Due to his extreme level of intoxication and refusal to comply with officers, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Darius Woods charged with “harassment” of stepfather while protecting siblings

25-year-old Darius Woods was booked this week on an outstanding warrant charging him with harassment of his stepfather, Cedric Johnson, in 2020. The stepfather says Darius sent him a text message stating “I’m aware of how my little brother and sister are being treated by you and your wife. This is not a threat but a promise that the next time I hear they have been mentally, emotionally, or physically abused then I’ll be the one to save them. This is not up for discussion, it’s simply a message that I hope you read carefully and understand”. Cedric Johnson states he was placed in fear of being harmed.

Man charged in assault of ex-girlfriend, vandalism of her car — Jason Ferguson

37-year-old Jason Ferguson, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Saturday on multiple outstanding felony warrants from January. Police say he entered the Nashville home of his ex-girlfriend, Alarecia James, unannounced and without permission, walked to her back bedroom, and knocked on the door. When she opened the door, he reportedly grabbed her by the throat with one hand, squeezed her throat, and slapped her face with his other hand, leaving visible injuries. Ferguson then exited the home and smashed the front and rear windows of her vehicle by jumping up and down on them.

DUI: Musician Judson McKinney arrested after driving wrong way on 2nd Ave downtown

Police say 37-year-old Judson McKinney was driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street in downtown Nashville this weekend when he came up onto the sidewalk and collided with barricades. He kept telling police “I’m just a musician coming back from a gig” as he attempted to stand on 2nd Avenue. While he was insistent he had only consumed “one drink”, his pupils were largely dilated and non-reactive to light. He failed every attempt at a field sobriety test and refused to speak with officers further. He declined requests for his blood, however, officers obtained a warrant and transported him to Nashville General Hospital prior to being jailed.

Tourist too turnt for Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville — Ashley Stengel

24-year-old Ashley Stengel was taken into custody after Metro Nashville Police responded to a fight call at Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The located Stengel yelling having fights with multiple people at the venue. She refused to stop and would not comply with commands, pulling away from officers and being disorderly. Police say she was “highly intoxicated”.

Florida man charged with burglary of hot sauce from Nashville taco restaurant— Bryan Noll

Nashville Police say 25-year-old Bryan Noll, from Florida, kicked in the door of Baja Sexto Taco in downtown Nashville, made entry into the closed business just after midnight, and stole a small bottle of hot sauce. He was located nearby when police arrived and taken into custody. The hot sauce was turned into the evidence room. Boll is charged with felony burglary and is free on pre-trial release.

Chad Dunn points gun at girlfriend, then turns it on himself, asking her to “do it” to protect herself from him

West Nashville Police say Erin Smith told her live-in boyfriend, 38-year-old barback Chad Dunn, their relationship was over Saturday evening, and shortly after he grabbed her by the throat with both of his hands and strangled her for approximately fifteen seconds, to the point she came close to losing consciousness. While holding both hands around her neck he then headbutted her. Chad Dunn then grabbed a pistol, pointing it at her chest, stating “I want to protect you”. He then put the gun in her hands and forced her to point it at his forehead, telling her to “do it!”. Smith then fled the apartment with the gun, driving to West Precinct where her injuries were documented and she was treated by medics.

That’s it – that’s the entire program, announced today by Nashville Police. Police at the NHL Stadium Series Game Saturday were flagged down as 36-year-old Keith Osterman was yelling and screaming at his girlfriend in the parking lot to the extent that multiple people were alarmed by the behavior. Police arrived to find Ostermann extremely intoxicated, unable to stand steady on his feet and reeking of alcohol. He continued to raise his voice when speaking to officers, and his girlfriend stated he had already been kicked out of the stadium and game due to his level of intoxication.

Tranika Smith caught on video orchestrating murder of her husband — $5K bond

41-year-old Tranika Smith was arrested this weekend on an outstanding warrant from January, charging her with harassment. An arrest warrant details a video that was watched by officers which shows Tranika, who is currently going through a divorce, having a conversation with a friend of her husband, and talking about having her husband killed. She states he has three relatives that she believes would be willing to murder her husband. She also states she believes she would never be charged because no one could ever prove that she orchestrated the murder. Police retained a copy of the video in evidence.

Woman calls 911 to report a robbery that never happened — Kaylyn McCracken arrested

34-year-old Kaylyn McCracken called 911 and reported she was currently being robbed and thrown out of her house by two men and three women. A full police response to the strong-arm robbery-in-progress was immediately initiated to intercept the five assailants and rescue the woman. As police arrived on the scene, it became immediately apparent there was no robbery happening. In fact, McCracken was a visitor to the residence and was upset over an argument about coffee. She had actually attacked the two women and one man, who were the only other people at the residence. She now faces a felony charge of filing a false report.

Tyler Simpson charged with public intoxication after fighting Nashville Fire Department Medics

28-year-old Tyler Simpson was being transported to a local hospital due to his extreme level of intoxication when he began fighting medical personnel. Officers arrived on-scene to find him on the ground surrounded by NFD medics and were told he had assaulted at least one of their staff. He was then transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Bobby Rindhage found bloody on the sidewalk after fighting bouncers at Loser’s Bar in Nashville

Metro Nashville Police were flagged down by patrons at Losers Bar & Grill on Divison St, where they found 41-year-old Robert “Bobby” Rindhage on the sidewalk with a large amount of blood coming from his head. It was soon discovered he was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Bar staff stated Rindhage was fighting the bouncers, resulting in his injuries. He also attempted to fight officers when he was told he was under arrest.

Roommate charged with felony robbery and assault after dispute over money — Eliza Green

23-year-old Eliza Green is charged with the domestic assault of her roommate, Bonnie Harmon, who says the pair got into an argument over money, and Green threatened Harmon with severe bodily harm if she did not pay her. Harmon says that Green actually owed her money, and she would be deducting that amount from any money she gave her. It was at that point, as Judge Judy was unavailable to settle the dispute, when Green reportedly assaulted Harmon and forcibly took her tablets out of her hand. Police say the incident was captured on a home security camera which they viewed.

DUI: Jamie Westerhoff blows 3x BAC limit after crashing into tree

Nashville Police say 43-year-old Jamie Westerhoff drove her car into a tree next to oncoming traffic early Wednesday. She was sitting in the driver’s seat with the vehicle still in drive when officers arrived. She was unable to provide police with words in any order that made much sense, but she did blow a 0.247% BAC on the breathalyzer — over three times the legal limit in Tennessee. She was too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests at the scene without being a danger to herself.

Nashville Police charge woman with felony aggravated prostitution due to HIV status

Nashville police conducted a sting operation this week, placing ads online and meeting respondents at a hotel near Elliston Place & 24th Ave North. 33-year-old Kaetlin Blakeman responded to an ad and agreed to have sex with an undercover detective for $250 an hour. As she was taken into custody at the hotel police found heroin in her bra, and it was discovered she was HIV+, which she also admitted in an interview post-arrest. She was charged with felony aggravated prostitution due to her medical status. A commissioner set her bond at $26,000.

Metro Police say 36-year-old Adam Chase Dickie drove a woman to meet an undercover detective at a West End hotel this week during a prostitution sting operation. While the woman agreed to have sex for $250, Dickie drove her to the location knowing she was going to participate in prostitution, and he accepted gas money for his time and effort. He is charged with promoting prostitution.

Iowa man deemed too drunk to fly Southwest Airlines, arrested at BNA— Matthew Weiner

44-year-old Matthew Weiner, of Sioux City, Iowa, was jailed on a disorderly conduct charge after Nashville Airport Police were advised he was heavily intoxicated aboard a Southwest Airlines aircraft. Airline staff escorted him off the place and he was denied re-boarding for the remainder of the day, at which time he began “flipping off” other passengers, employees, and onlookers while using profanity loudly. He refused directives to leave the secured area of the airport on his own and was taken into custody.

Zain Sheikh charged in strangulation of cocaine case co-defendant, Kally Dobak

31-year-old Zein Sheikh was out on a $75,000 bond for cocaine charges when he was arrested again this week, now additionally charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation of his co-defendant in the cocaine case, Kally Dobak. He also had Kally arrested for assault the week prior to them both being indicted on the cocaine charges. In the new case against Sheikh, which was captured on building security cameras, he comes into the hallway in his underwear and pulls Dobak into their apartment, placing her into a choke-hold during an argument.

Man pulls knife on clerk when he doesn’t have ID to pick up alcohol for DoorDash order — Clayton Phifer

24-year-old Clayton Phifer and his wife were DoorDashing and had an order to pick up alcohol from a Berry Hill liquor store. When neither was able to produce ID to verify their age, they were denied the alcohol. After some back and forth, the store informed Clayton he was no longer welcome, and Clayton became irate and went outside only to return back inside with his wife. The clerk felt threatened and grabbed a bottle of liquor in case he had to defend himself, at which time Clayton pulled out a pocket knife and stated “there’s gonna be a murder scene in here”. The clerk and the Clayton were chest-to-chest during parts of the altercation and intimidation.
