Local charged with public intoxication after downtown fight with girlfriend — Luke Countryman

26-year-old Luke Countryman was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Sunday morning after police encountered him arguing and cursing at his girlfriend, causing a drunken disturbance on Broadway in downtown Nashville. Police attempted to end the disturbance by getting each party to go their separate ways, with his girlfriend getting in a cab.

Countryman refused and continued to be a disturbance and was drunkenly stumbling near the road. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

California Tourist punches cop in face after being kicked out of Kid Rock’s Bar — Connor Brink-Sawyer

Metro Nashville Police officers say they repeatedly pleaded with 24-year-old Connor Lee Brink-Sawyer to go on about his night after he was kicked out of Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville for fighting inside the venue. Brink-Sawyer repeatedly tried to re-enter the bar and was extremely intoxicated. Despite attempts to let him walk away, he became aggressive toward officers, resulting in his initial arrest for public intoxication. As an officer began to take him into custody for a charge he would have walked away from after a sobering-up period, Brink-Sawyer began to swing his fists at officers, he landed a punch on the face of Officer Michael Jason Leon Hones.

Brink-Sawyer was transported to the Metro Nashville Jail, where he was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer. Connor Brink-Sawyer, who is from Modesto, CA, is free on pre-trial release. Today is his 24th birthday.

21-year-old vs. Downtown Nashville drink pours: Taylor Murray charged with public intoxication

On 01/08/2022 at 2128 hours the defendant, Taylor Murray, was observed on 2nd Av S near Broadway. The defendant was seated slumped over on the sidewalk when officers approached her to see why she was on the ground. Officers detected the strong odor of alcohol expelling from the defendant’s breath when she spoke. The defendant was unsteady on her feet, had bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unable to care for herself. Due to the defendant’s high level of intoxication, it was determined she was a danger to herself and others.

Taylor was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

Tourist shatters & destroys door at Honky Tonk Central when he can’t get inside — Jack Charrlin

24-year-old Jack Charrlin, of Highland Park, IL, is charged with felony vandalism after police say he pounded on the glass door side exit door of Honky Tonk Central on Broadway in downtown Nashville until it was completely shattered and destroyed. Bouncer Brandon Valentin says Charrlin was pulling on the exit door from the outside, increasingly becoming more agitated he could not enter through the side door.

Charrlin eventually started hitting the door until it shattered. He was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail and is free on a $3,500 cash bond.

26-year-old Katelyn Abigail Bowles was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail after security at Tin Roof Demonbreun alerted officers she had become too intoxicated and was refusing to leave. Officers attempted to assist her with finding who she was with, or to call a ride, however she stated she didn’t want any assistance while unable to stand on her own without leaning on people and fixtures.

She was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Pulaski man charged with brutal assault of girlfriend in downtown hotel $25K bond — Harry Brandon Russell

32-year-old Harry Brandon Russell, of Pulaski, is charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation after police say grabbed his girlfriend, Shelbey Ebersole, inside a room of the downtown Holiday Inn Express in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. The victim’s brother eventually had to pull Russell off of her after he slammed her into the wall of a bathroom and used both his hands to strangle her until she was unable to breathe and could no longer call for help.

The argument reportedly started after he felt she came back to the room late and wasn’t answering her phone. Russell is free on a $25,000 bond.

Woman says California visitor chugged beer & destroyed her kitchen — Justin Hickey arrested

Geri Michelle Robinson says she had 28-year-old Justin Hickey, of California, to her home this week, and he suddenly became verbally aggressive while chugging bottles of beer. He then began using the bottles to break things in the kitchen and used a Sharpie to write “disparaging remarks” on a door and vandalized her refrigerator.

When officers arrived he was still verbally berating the victim and admitted to his wrongdoings. He was charged with vandalism and is free on a $1,500 bond.

Kayla Hambrick charged with strangling daughter during an argument; Witness corroborates assault

34-year-old Kayla Hambrick is now free on a $3,000 bond after being charged with the aggravated assault and strangulation of her 16-year-old daughter. The victim and an independent witness both had matching accounts which revealed Kayla was in an argument with her daughter about having her boyfriend at her grandmother’s house.

While unloading things from a vehicle, Kayla reportedly grabbed her daughter while yelling at her and bent her over backward into the rear of the SUV screaming “Who the F are you talking to?!” multiple times while strangling her, and then dragging her into the apartment by her clothing. Kayla told police there was absolutely no altercation and denied anything happened.

You also wouldn’t suspect the tall and lanky middle-aged man who has been with the department for nearly two decades was a local MMA legend as he rides his bicycle on-duty for Central Precinct. That’s part of what makes it even more surprising that a suspect got the best of him this week, stabbing him with an ink pen, leaving a deep puncture wound just an inch from his carotid artery.

28-year-old Diante Wilkes is charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s car and taking her speakers. Once he learned she had reported the incident and warrants had been issued for his arrest he reportedly began to text his ex, Jessica Carter, and make threats of physical violence if she didn’t “cancel the warrants”.

In addition to the open warrants for theft and auto burglary, Wilkes was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail earlier this week, also charged with coercion of a witness. He remains jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond.

Man charged after making threats & smashing glass at Dirt Cheap Discount in Madison — Kaleb Elliott

Police say 21-year-old Kaleb Elliott walked into the Dirt Cheap Discount Store in Madison and caused a disturbance with employees. When asked to leave he repeatedly and aggressively shouted “I’ll slap the shit out of you” and advanced on Neioki Key in an aggressive manner, causing her to fear imminent bodily injury.

As Elliott was leaving the store he punched the glass door to the business, shattering it. He fled the scene and led officers on a short chase before eventually being taken into custody. Elliott is jailed in lieu of an $11,000 bond.

DUI: Woman blames crash on argument, breathalyzer determines that was a lie — Anna Bea Major arrested

25-year-old Anna Bea Major was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Wednesday night after she crashed her vehicle in downtown Nashville. When officers arrived on scene, she told them the cause of the wreck was because of an argument with her roommate. A breathalyzer determined that was a lie. She blew over double the legal limit, a .182 % BAC at booking. She is free on pre-trial release.

In 2019 Major was arrested after leaving the Exit Inn, where she was a bartender and was in a crash on the interstate in which she hit a wall and fled the scene. During that incident, she admitted to drinking prior to driving, and officers located marijuana and cocaine on her person incident to arrest.

Man so drunk he continues to drive damaged vehicle after crash — Elijah Gang #WhiteBoyWasted

26-year-old Elijah Gang was driving around in a recently crashed vehicle when he drove right into an area which police were preparing for the NYE event in downtown Nashville. An officer approached him to make sure he was ok, and that he realized how damaged his vehicle was. The front-end had heavy damage and the left front tire was completely flat. Gang reeked of alcohol and refused to answer most questions.

Inside the Toyota Rav4 was an open Miller High Life beer can and multiple cans of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Things. Gang was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and open containers. He was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, just a few blocks away, and is free on pre-trial release.

47-year-old Rob Winfrey, from Kansas, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on Wednesday after police say he was extremely intoxicated when entering the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and repeatedly attempted to fight security staff when they asked him to leave.

He was transported to booking and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

Drunk man with gun threatens to kill store clerk, police let him walk away, he then assaults roommate — Shabazz Mallison

26-year-old Shabazz Mallison is jailed in lieu of a $72,000 bond after police had two interactions with him Wednesday. Officers first encountered him at a South Nashville 7-Eleven when he threatened to fight and kill the clerk. He was released from the scene after the clerk chose to not press charges.

One hour later, police were called to his home where they encountered him armed with a handgun on the front porch, yelling for cops to “shoot me! shoot me!” while waving the gun around. He had threatened a roommate, Shameka Watson, and another woman with a gun while pointing the laser sight at them. During the argument he reportedly also threw a Yankee candle at her, leaving wax on her face, and she used a chicken pan on him in self-defense.

Mallison is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment/assault, and possession of a handgun under the influence.

DCSO Officers find bounty of booty in bussy of inmate — Craig Briley’s #PrisonPocket

26-year-old Craig Briley was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail after police determined he was a felon in possession of a handgun while riding in a car with William Anderson and Jada Stange, and she told police the gun wasn’t hers, despite the fact she was able to legally possess one.

Once at the Jail, located a homemade ‘tube’, created from electrical tape, deep inside Briley’s rectum by Officer Brian Burton which contained 24 grams of methamphetamine, 28 grams of marijuana, and a MicroSD card. Also found attached to Briley’s pen*s was a metal pill bottle with 5 ecstasy pills and another gram of meth. Briley is jailed in lieu of a $35,000 bond.

After cocaine & beer, man calls 911 to have a tow truck take him home. He walked to the restaurant — Timothy Odom

54-year-old Timothy Odom went to an East Nashville restaurant Wednesday and drank “a lot” of beer and snorted cocaine. He then convinced employees to call 911 for him, stating he was experiencing an emergency. Once officers arrived he explained he had stubbed his toe, and his phone wasn’t charged, both of which he believed to be genuine emergencies. He told officers what he really needed was for them to call a tow truck for him, so he could get home. Mr. Odom arrived on foot and did not have a vehicle.

Odom was charged with making a non-emergency 911 call ($50 bond), drug paraphernalia for the cut straws in his backpack ($1,000 bond), and public intoxication ($50 bond). He is jailed in lieu of a $1,100 bond.

East Nashville man’s “acquaintance” kicks in door, threatens family, refuses to leave — Michael Bland arrested

23-year-old Michael Bland (Mikey) was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Tuesday on outstanding warrants from August, charging him with felony aggravated burglary and assault. The incident occurred in East Nashville when he reportedly kicked in the read door of Brian Scott, who is described as an “acquaintance” and refused to leave, and made threats toward the victim and his family as Brain Scott physically removed him from the home.

Brian could only tell the police he knew him as “Mikey”, and police were later able to determine his identity through investigation. Mikey Bland is jailed in lieu of a $26,000 bond.

Employee leaves gun in planter outside Nissan stadium during Titans Game — Jaquilla Fitts

36-year-old Jaquilla Fitts says she left her gun in a planter outside the gates of Nissan Stadium while she went inside to work during the Titan’s game on January 2nd. Police were alerted to the presence of the gun, and after a short investigation traced it to the employee. When questioned, Fitts explained she had taken a shuttle to work and still had the gun on her, so she had nowhere else to store it, as she could not get through security with the firearm.

A records check showed the gun as reported stolen. She was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with theft of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. A commissioner set a $10,000 bond, however, she was free on pre-trial release.

Man charged with misuse of 911 after demanding police connect him with his embassy — Sami Albalawai

Metro Police eventually arrested 27-year-old Sami Awash Albalawi after he called 911 twelve times, demanding to be put in touch with his embassy. Officers responded to the first of the calls, which came from a motel near the airport, and explained that police were unable to assist him with contacting his embassy, and that he would need to contact them on his own. Police believed they had an understanding, and left Mr. Albalawai. Several more calls then accumulated at the Emergency Communications Center, who traced the first few to the same motel, and the later ones at the Nashville International Airport.

Police were eventually able to locate the man after the 12th call to 911. After it was apparent there was no clear understanding that 911 would be unable to assist him, he was transported to booking and charged with aggravated non-emergency calls. He is jailed in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

35-year-old grown adult Megan Davis admits she threw her roommate’s wooden dresser drawers and contents outside in the grass, destroying both them and the contents. The roommate, Holly Baughman, came home to see her things on the ground and then the two got into an argument that even the police could not determine who started.

Due to the confession, police charged Megan Davis with vandalism and transported her to booking. She is free on a $1,000 bond.

26-year-old Marisa McDowell was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on December 30, on an outstanding warranting charging her with being AWOL (absent with out leave) from the Tennessee National Guard since January of 2020.

Prosecutors allege she never reported to required drills during the past 2 years and failed to respond to certified letters. She is free on pre-trial release.
