Marine charged in assault of wife over baby crying — Aaron Burnette arrested

23-year-old Marine Aaron Burnette was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Tuesday on an outstanding warrant from the weekend, charging him with the domestic assault and bodily injury of his wife, Chelsea Majors Burnette.

The victim says he shoved her to the ground while she was holding their child and punched her the head with a fist, leaving swelling, while on top of her. He then fled the scene.

DUI: Woman crashes after leaving Play Dance Bar, wears heels during field sobriety tests — Kayla Knox arrested

While responding to a different call, officers discovered 21-year-old Kayla Knox stepping out of her wrecked vehicle in the median of I-40. She told officers she had just left Play Dance Bar where she drank shots and was trying to get home to Clarksville. She refused to remove her heels and performed field sobriety tests wearing them. She was charged with DUI.

48-year-old former Volunteer Police Chaplain Latrice Hughes was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail over the weekend, charged with harassment of her ex-boyfriend, Nashville Lawyer Newton Holiday. Court records allege she posted a video online titled “Pu**yMonsters” in which she mentions Holiday, Judge Allegra Walker, a murder over gems used as real estate collateral, all reportedly in violation of an active order of protection.

DUI: Bria Brooks charged after crossing 3 lanes of traffic, crashing into airport fence

When Police found 34-year-old Bria Brooks wrecked into a fence near the airport on Murfreesboro Pike at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, she wasn’t sure what had happened, where she had been, where she was going and insisted her credit card was her identification.
She admitted to drinking “a little” according to an arrest warrant.

Tourist charged with assault of girlfriend at hotel after drinking at bar — Kyle Maike arrested

27-year-old tourist Kyle Maike, from Idaho, was charged with domestic assault with bodily injury at a Nashville Hotel this weekend after police say he put his hands on his girlfriend, Ashleigh Woods, as they were coming back to the hotel from a bar. He reportedly pinned her against a wall, ripped the phone cord from the wall, and left her jacket bloody and torn from a struggle.
Maike is free on a $1,000 cash bond.

Man found sleeping off his intoxication on stranger’s East Nashville Porch— Zachary Yonts arrested

Metro Police arrived to find 28-year-old Zachary Tyler Yonts asleep in a chair on the front port of an East Nashville home on Marsden Ave just before daylight Sunday. The residents had initially called police to report a stranger knocking on their front door. Officers woke the man up and determined he was intoxicated to the point he was unable to care for himself, and it was unsafe to leave him in public.

He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Local drinks too much vodka on Broadway, charged with public intoxication — Mario Sardagna

Metro Nashville Police took 48-year-old Mario Sardagna into custody Saturday afternoon at 401 Broadway, Merchants Restaurant. Officer Sean Pulizzano says the local man was extremely intoxicated and was annoying people in the area of the restaurant, and could not stand up without swaying. Sardagna told police he drank too much vodka and apologized.

Sardagna was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Woman says she was raped, he says it was consensual; police don’t charge the crime — Te’Quan Cartwright

19-year-old Te’Quan is charged with possession of brass knuckles, vandalism, interference with a 911 call, and domestic assault, after his ex-girlfriend, Johnyae Hooten, says he punched her in the face, raped her, and smashed her phone when she attempted to call 911 to report it.

Cartwright is free on a $5,000 bond.

Secret Ford & Nemani Braden charged in underage DUI after drinking at Chicken Coop Bar in Nashville

Secret Ford & Nemani Braden, both 19-years-old, are now formally charged in a DUI crash that caused multiple injuries in June. Ford was booked on the day of the crash, while Braden was taken into custody this week on the outstanding warrant as she was hospitalized the day of the incident. Ford, who owned the vehicle and was in the passenger seat, allowed Braden to drive, knowing they were both heavily intoxicated.

They were out with a group of underage friends and had been drinking at “Toxic Tuesdays” at the Chicken Coop 615 bar.

Sara Evans filed for divorce prior to Jay Barker’s arrest for attempting to run over her with a vehicle

Musician Sara Evans Barker filed for divorce from former football quarterback and radio personality Harry ‘Jay’ Jerome Barker in August of 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct”. Jay was not participating in court proceedings, and Sara’s lawyer last month requested a Nashville Judge to enter a default judgment, granting the divorce according to the terms of their 2008 marriage agreement, which would leave both parties as they came to the marriage, with no additional monies or assets granted to either party upon divorce, and removing either party from any asset claims or distribution upon the death of either party if a divorce occurred.

On January 15th, Metro Nashville Police arrested Harry ‘Jay’ Jerome Barker, charging him with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after they say he got into his vehicle and drove in reverse at a high rate of speed in an attempt to ram a vehicle in which his estranged wife, Sara Evans, was a passenger.

Drunken tourist charged with vandalizing downtown hotel lobby — Adolfo Monge

27-year-old tourist Adolfo Monge, from Atlanta, is free on pre-trial release after police say he came into the Comfort Inn on Demonbreun, initially asking to charge his phone. After a confrontation between him and the front desk clerk, he ripped the credit card machine from the front desk and tossed it across the lobby, stating “Make my Day! Do you want to fight me?”.

He would eventually leave, then return to stare at the clerk, who called police a second time. He was finally taken into custody and charged with vandalism.

Man spends birthday in jail after assaulting his mother in Madison — Vanell Coble

Vanell Coble spent his 26th birthday in the Metro Nashville Jail this week, as he was arrested two days prior after his mother says he knocked on her door and once she opened it, he grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her backward ten feet into the apartment, resulting in a scratch to her forehead.

Coble’s bond is set at $1,000, and there’s a hold on his release from Smyrna Police due to multiple outstanding probation and failure to appear warrants.

Too drunk for downtown Nashville — Derrick Nelson deemed drunk and disorderly

30-year-old Derrick Nelson was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail this week after being deemed too drunk to remain on his own in downtown Nashville. Officers first encountered him while patrolling Broadway near 6th Ave South, as he was yelling at other bar patrons in the area and causing a disturbance.

He was having trouble standing steady and was unable to contact anyone that could care for him, or tell officers where he was staying so they could assist him back to that location. He was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Nashville Sheriff suspends all non-essential intakes into jail due to COVID outbreak

Effective Sunday, January 16, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, which operates the jail, will only accept admissions directly from “street arrests” as deemed necessary that can’t be resolved by a citation by the arresting agency. All intake services are suspended until further notice for federal sleepover inmates, those serving weekend time, “hold for court” only, prisoner transports, and any other “wait to report” type admissions. Direct arrests from the courts may still be accepted.

NOTE: Citation booking & release is not impacted, as this is a function of the courts, which are still continuing operation at this time. 42% of the current 1,614 inmates are either a confirmed positive COVID case or awaiting confirmation of a test result.

Mother charged with assault & strangulation of her child, cops find her intoxicated & uncooperative — Jess Hager

37-year-old is free on a $10,000 bond after being charged with the felony assault and strangulation of her young child. After the assault, the juvenile got on his bicycle in West Nashville, flagged down a neighbor and asked to use a phone explaining he had just been assaulted by his mother when she tossed him to the ground, strangled him by the neck, assaulted him, all while telling him she wished she never had him.

The neighbor alerted police and got in touch with the child’s grandmother, and assisted him in getting to her residence, where police also arrived.

The grandmother stated this was not unusual, and the child often sought sanctuary at her home as his mother struggles to manage her life.

Man says he intentionally rammed vehicle into tree after drinking White Claw — Anthony Castiglia

25-year-old Anthony Castiglia was booked on a citation for DUI this week stemming from a December crash that sent him to the hospital. Court records show Castiglia told officers he intentionally rammed his vehicle into a tree on Ellison Place.

Officers found several consumed cans of White Claw in both the front and back seats of the vehicle. He was transported to Vanderbilt and admitted due to internal injuries.

DUI: Man blows over double legal BAC limit after I-40 crash — Robert Cade Marklein arrested

When police responded to a crash on I-40, 24-year-old Robert “Cade” Marklein told officers a car forced him into the guardrail and off the roadway. Officers, however, noticed Marklein appeared to be heavily intoxicated, and after questioning, Marklein admitted to drinking “two beers” earlier in the night.

He eventually blew more than double the legal limit, a 0.185% BAC and was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license. Cade Marklein is free on a $2,500 bond.

Clarksville mother faked autistic child’s death. School laptop leads to his discovery — Vanessa Blanchard

From our partner, Clarksville Today: In October of 2021, New Providence Middle School SRO Dwayne James contacted Vanessa Blanchard to inquire why her 12-year-old son was not at school, he was informed the child had died as the result of a seizure two days prior. The school announced the child’s death and had a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses, which Blanchard said would be at Sykes Funeral Home. When the school contacted the funeral home to donate the money, they had no record of the family or any arrangements.

The school reached out to Blanchard again, and she explained the child’s body was at Tennova, awaiting an autopsy. Two weeks later, the child’s school-issued laptop was realized to be active at the Vacation Motor Motel.

Deputies responded to the location and found the boy in the room, but otherwise alive and well. Vanessa Blanchard admitted to leaving the child there alone and checking on him every other day, or so. Blanchard is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child, and fraud – false impression of death. She remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.

Chris Dye charged in violent assault of girlfriend in downtown Nashville

24-year-old Chris Dye was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Wednesday on an outstanding warrant from Novembercharging him with domestic assault with bodily injury. His girlfriend, Courtney Steck, told police they went out to the W Hotel with friends, and as they were leaving she was putting up her hair and he became enraged, pulling her hair, slapping, and punching her.

Police noticed her damaged phone, which Dye also reportedly tossed along with her wallet. Once back at her apartment she says he punched her in the face, damaged her glasses, and pushed her into a wall. Dye is free on a $1,000 bond.

Wife assaults husband & destroys his office after she’s denied drugs — Lillian Stout-Cox arrested

Police say 28-year-old Lillian Stout-Cox was at Top Golf with her husband, Paul Cox, who owns a Goodlettsville car lot. She reportedly became upset after he would not hire her brother and caused such a scene that Paul took a rideshare back to the car lot. By the time he arrived, Lillian was already there waiting for him. Security video shows another argument occurred, this time after she demanded some of his prescribed medication (Klonopin) as she searched the office for them. When she realized they were in his possession she began destroying computer monitors and furniture throughout the office. Stout-Cox is charged with domestic assault and vandalism and is free on a $2,000 bond.

Man accuses bar staff of stealing his wallet; it was in his pocket — Gregory Boatright arrested

36-year-old Gregory Boatright became extremely intoxicated at Bootlegger’s Inn on Broadway in downtown Nashville Saturday night and began to accuse employees and patrons of the bar of stealing his wallet. He eventually became a disruption and was asked to leave – a request which he refused.

Police responded to the bar, and after more drunken behavior he was placed into custody for public intoxication. A search incident to arrest determined his wallet was in his back pocket.

Stalking: Woman breaks into ex-boyfriend’s home; is bitten by his dog — Carla Hilliard

49-year-old Carla Hilliard was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Saturday on multiple outstanding warrants related to the stalking of her ex-lover, Ronnie Perfect. The couple ended the relationship in late September, and since that time Hilliard has continued to stalk and harass 60-year-old Ronnie Perfect. Some of the incidents include her showing up at his home and work and refusing to leave, she then used a heavy marker to write “Fa***t Loser” on the hood of his vehicle at his workplace.

Most recently she broke into his home, chased him through the residence, and only fled after his dog bit her, leaving a trail of blood on her way out. She is free on a $5,000 bond.

Man charged in assault of ex-girlfriend, she bites him in self-defense — Kyler Shular arrested

25-year-old Kyler Vance Shular is charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation and false imprisonment after his ex-girlfriend came over to get her things from their shared apartment, to which she still had a key, and he reportedly became upset, pinned her to the floor, threatened her, then covered her mouth when the screamed. A neighbor heard the commotion and knocked on the door, allowing the victim, Halle Strunk, to escape.

Both parties had injuries as she fought back and bit him at least once in self-defense, however, police determined Shular to be the primary aggressor due to the disparity in physical sizes and severity of injuries between the parties. Shular is free on an $8,000 bond.

Man drives wrong way on one-way street with two flat tires, blows 0.14 BAC — Austin Boyette

In the early hours of Saturday morning, police found 27-year-old Austin Shane Boyette driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street with two completely flat tires. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Boyette acknowledged he was aware of the two tires, stating he had attempted to fill them up with air, unsuccessfully. After failing all three field sobriety tests, Boyette blew a 0.14% BAC on the breathalyzer and admits to drinking “five beers and some wine beverages” prior to driving. He is free on pre-trial release.
