Restaurant owner Thomas Courtney sentenced to 1 year in jail on DUI 3rd charge, loses license for 6 years

Mt. Juliet Business owner Thomas Courtney was sentenced on Monday to an 11 months and 29 days jail sentence in his DUI 3rd case in Davidson County. He was already in custody for his trial after a Nashville judge revoked his bond for multiple probation violations and repeated arrests in Wilson county, who continued to ROR him back into society to continue to commit crimes without penalty. As a part of his Nashville sentence, he will be required to participate in and complete the New Avenue alcohol treatment program within the Davidson County Detention Center. After applying the automatic percentage of sentencing and time already served, Courtney is scheduled for release on July 26th of 2022, at which time he will still have trials and sentencing in Wilson County for cases including a probation violation (x3), domestic assault, and driving on a revoked license (x2). As part of his Davidson County sentence, Courtney will lose his driver’s license for six years. Judge Higgins set a special condition to Courtney’s sentence, which prevents him from petitioning the court for an early release, for any reason, other than the stand time calculations given to every inmate at the facility.

Man charged with shooting another man during scuffle over his wife — John Breckenridge

Metro police say 31-year-old John Breckenridge was having a “panic attack” when they arrived at a Poplar Creek Road address, where he had shot Ronald Pratt in what a witness describes as an argument and scuffle over Breckenridge’s wife. An arrest warrant alleges that Breckenridge knocked on the front door of the home and Pratt’s mother opened the door. When Ronald Pratt went outside, an argument and scuffle ensued in the front yard, and witnesses heard a gunshot, followed by Ronald Pratt coming back inside and falling on the floor, freshly shot in the abdomen.

Breckenridge’s father was standing by outside the residence in a pickup truck, but Breckenridge didn’t flee as he suffered an injury to his ear and was having a panic attack, which resulted in him also being transported to the hospital. Breckenridge refused to be interviewed and remains jailed in lieu of a $100,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

25-year-old tourist Corey Oakes, from Kentucky, is charged with tampering with evidence and public intoxication after he carried his friend, who shot himself in the leg in downtown Nashville while drinking, on a bird scooter back to the Cambria hotel and parked him at the entrance while he returned to their room upstairs to hide the gun. When police responded to the shooting call at the hotel they located the victim and Oakes, who was extremely intoxicated, and admitted his friend “may have possibly shot himself” and admitted to returning the gun to their room. Colorado tourist calls 911 on wife who slapped him at downtown Nashville Hotel — Tina Michelle Smith arrested

Tourist Christopher Michael Smith called Metro Nashville Police early Monday morning to report his 55-year-old wife, Tina Michelle Smith, was slapping him. When police arrived, the couple, who were in town from Castle Pines, Colorado, had already got an additional room at the JW Marriott in downtown Nashville where they were staying and separated themselves. Court records show that when Christopher was talking to their son on the phone he revealed the couple had been out drinking earlier in the evening, which upset Tina, causing her to wrestle the phone away from her husband while he attempted to record her.

She eventually got on top of him on the hotel bed and began slapping him in the face, prompting the 911 call. A hotel air vent was also broken during the assault. Police documented nail marks on the victim’s face, and blood on his pillow. Tina Smith was transported to the Metro Nashville Jail and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. After the state-mandated 12-hour hold for domestic violence cases, she was released on a $5,000 cash bond.

Former Live Nation executive over Ascend Amphitheater charged with DUI — Brian Traeger arrested

41-year-old Brian Traeger, who was formerly president of Live Nation’s Tennessee Business Unit in charge of programming at Ascend Amphitheater, told police he was completely at fault for hitting a parked car while driving his blue Audi A4 Saturday evening in Nashville, claiming he was texting and driving when the accident occurred. Officer say they smelled alcohol coming from Traeger’s breath, and that he was swaying and slurring his words during the interaction. When asked to perform field sobriety tests, Traeger reportedly agreed initially, then retracted his compliance and stated “just take a blood draw because it’s the most accurate”. 23-year-old Noah Wallis was found pantsless and shoeless in a downtown Nashville parking lot in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday. 18-year-old Kevin Searcy III is charged with the domestic assault of his father, Kevin Searcy Jr., after a fight that court records and witness statements show was over toilet paper. The 18-year-old reportedly punched and kicked his father all over his body, and strangled him before a witness attempted to pull him off the victim. 25-year-old April Shante Cantrell was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Wednesday on an outstanding felony vandalism warrant from September. An arrest warrant shows she went to the Overlook Ridge Apartments with her sister, Lete Cantrell, along with four other individuals, and beat on the door of Jameshia Jones, who was inside her apartment. Video footage then reportedly shows April walking on top of Jameshia’s 2013 Hyundai Sonata and stepping through the front windshield, destroying it, and ripping off the license plate before fleeing with the others. A repair estimate of $5,006.44 was provided to detectives and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She is free on a $10,000 bond.

Intoxicated woman wrecks car at police headquarters & urinates on their steps — April Watkins arrested

Metro Nashville Police say 46-year-old April Watkins crashed her vehicle into the concrete outside of MNPD Headquarters, located at 600 Murfreesboro Pike, in the early morning hours of December 3rd. A Metro Security Officer disabled her vehicle so she wouldn’t drive away, and responding police officers found the “highly intoxicated” woman squatting while urinating on the steps of the facility. She was half-dressed with her legging pulled down and shirt half-off, according to a police report. She was so intoxicated that field sobriety tests were unable to be performed, and officers say they found prescribed Hydrocodone in her vehicle during a tow inventory, and believe that could have attributed to the unusually high level of intoxication. Nashville rapper Fazoe charged with punching sister in face, pulling out her hair, over shrimp — David Hyde

23-year-old David ‘Fazoe’ Hyde was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Thursday on an outstanding domestic assault warrant from 2019. According to court documents, his mother flagged down police to tell them he had assaulted his sister after she refused to give him some shrimp which she was eating in East Nashville. The two scuffled after he began recording her with his phone, and witnesses report he punched her in the face with his fist and pulled out several strands of her hair before fleeing. He is free on a $2,500 bond.

At the time of this week’s arrest, Hyde was also facing another case from April of 2019, during which David gave the name and SSN of his twin brother, Dominique Hyde, after a minor traffic accident. While police were questioning him during that interaction his mother approached police and asked if he gave them his real name or his brother’s, and he was then charged with criminal impersonation and the FTA on another outstanding warrant at that time. That case is also ongoing.

Man charged with disorderly conduct after refusing to leave Madison Best Buy — Jason Lind

37-year-old Jason Lawrence Lind was reportedly threatening customers and employees at the Madison Best Buy on November 30th when officers arrived and found him inside the store, refusing to leave. Despite attempts to calm Lind, and to find the reason for his displeasure, he remained upset and continued to attempt to return inside the store after management explained he was no longer welcome.
