Man say he stole laptop & phone from church “to do God’s work” — Edward Thompson

When police asked 30-year-old Edward Thompson why he had taken several items, including a laptop and cell phone, from the downtown First Baptist Church on Broadway he told them “That’s my church and I own it”, and continued to explain that he took the items “to do God’s work”. Security footage shows him breaking through a window to access the items inside the church. He was charged with burglary and is free on pre-trial release after just two hours in custody.

Kroger Tide Pod shoplifter identified by uncle — Caleb Tyus arrested

23-year-old Caleb Tyus is charged with the theft of 10 bags of Tide Pods from a Gallatin Pike Kroger. An employee was able to take a photo of the car he was driving as he fled, and police contacted the registered owner, who was his uncle, Anthony Richardson. The uncle positively identified Caleb as the person from surveillance photos and stated Caleb was in possession of the car during the time of the tide pod boost. Tyus is free on pre-trial release.

Drunk birthday boy arrested after climbing into cop car on Music Row — Bryce Parker

24-year-old Bryce Parker was celebrating his birthday with friends on Music Row when it was reported he was getting into vehicles of people he didn’t know. After Metro Nashville Police arrived to investigate the call, they noticed the 24-year-old had climbed into their own patrol car, which was parked with the emergency equipment activated. Unable to locate the friends he was celebrating with, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

39-year-old Jeremy Jones’s female roommate told him it was time for him to leave her property, as he had been there for three months and things weren’t working out. When she informed him, he began to throw things around the house and slammed doors, causing damage to locks. He was caught in 4K telling her “You think this is bad, wait and see… You need to love your husband as long as you can… you will find out what the Crips will do!” in a video reviewed by police. At the time of his arrest, he was out on bond for threatening his parents with a shotgun, and that bond company has now also surrendered him from their bond, making his new bond for release set at $40,500

Woman says she was selling salt as meth to “woo the men” — Michelle Folnsbee arrested

36-year-old Michelle Folnsbee faces felony drug charges, even though she possessed no actual drugs. She was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop when Goodlettsville PD located several ‘safes’ in her PUMA bag that contained bags of what appears to be crystal methamphetamine. When officers tested the drugs, nothing returned positive, and she admitted it was salt, stating she used it to “woo the men” who bought it. She is charged with felony possession of a counterfeit controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She is free on pre-trial release.

48-year-old Jonas Bare is free on a $2,500 bond after a State Trooper pulled him over early Sunday morning on Ellington Parkway after observing him driving erratically and crossing the center line multiple times in a white SUV. He reportedly reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Bare is charged with DUI.

32-year-old Kristen Peppers was booked into the Metro Nashville jail just as the sun was rising Saturday morning, charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. Her boyfriend, Mychal Dabney, says he had come to visit her for the holiday and was sleeping when, in the middle of the night, he was suddenly awoken out of his sleep by his girlfriend punching him in the face repeatedly with her fists, leaving him bleeding, which he used her bedsheets in an attempt to stop the bleeding from his nose and face. Peppers admits that she was upset after seeing some photos on Instagram and Facebook which he had ‘liked’ using his account. She is free on a $1,500 bond.

Tourist charged with punching boyfriend in face after night of Broadway binging — Sarisa Orphal

27-year-old Sarisa Orphal, a tourist from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged with domestic assault in Nashville after her boyfriend told police the couple had been out drinking on Broadway late Saturday night and returned to their room at the Cambria Hotel and began to argue. When Daniel Goff attempted to leave the hotel room she reportedly snatched the hat off his head and punched him in the face three times, leaving two bloody cuts on his face, according to Metro Nashville Police who documented the injuries. She was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail and is now free on a $1,000 cash bond.

Intoxicated teen arrives at Nashville Airport passed out in back of Uber — Jacob Cornelius #VisitMusicCity

19-year-old Jacob Cornelius was charged with public intoxication at the Nashville International Airport after his Uber arrived at the terminal early Sunday morning with him passed out in the back seat. The rideshare driver had alerted airport police, who arrived and had an “extremely hard time” waking the teen from his alcohol-induced slumber. Too intoxicated to even stand, much less fly, he was wheeled to a patrol car and transported to booking, where he was charged with public intoxication.

39-year-old Sarah Sneeden is charged with assault after a security guard at Nudie’s Honky Tonk says she asked Sneeden to step away from the door of the business and she refused – instead, she grabbed the bouncer by the neck and pushed her aside. It took several other personnel to assist in containing Sneeden until police could arrive. She was issued a state citation for misdemeanor assault.

52-year-old Jorge Gutierrez Iglesias invited Roberto Mendoza over for “dinner and drinks” Saturday evening, and at some point he says his dinner guest just “went crazy”, forcing him to slash at him with a 12-inch kitchen knife, leaving the victim with a deep gash in his right arm and swelling beneath his eye, and a cut on his wrist. Police say both parties were “heavily intoxicated” and neither would give a true explanation for what happened or any attempt to justify the assault. Iglesias is free on a $10,000 bond.

Man charged in horrific sadistic assault of girlfriend, steals all her things — Joel Jones jailed on $45K bond

42-year-old Joel Jones is accused of stealing his girlfriend’s Jeep Patriot, cell phone, purse, wallet, Ruger handgun, and removing $2,000 from her bank account. She said she believes he was ending the relationship and had no intention of returning anything, because before he fled he placed a pillow over her face and smothered her while accusing her of cheating on him, and then wrote “I will get next”, which police documented, on the bed beside her. Investigators say he meant he was claiming his place in line for her as if she were a prostitute. He also attempted to carve the word ‘WH*RE’ into her forehead with the tip of an ink pen after the ink wouldn’t stay on her skin. The value of the stolen items was $14,000. Jones is jailed in lieu of a $45,000 bond, on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

Argument over dirty dishes leaves roommate jailed over Thanksgiving holiday — Carlos Blas-Morales

29-year-old Carlos Blas-Morales is charged with the Thanksgiving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon of his roommate after the pair argued over dirty dishes on the stove just before 10 a.m. A witness says Blas-Morales grabbed a pair of scissors, which escalated the verbal argument. He reportedly approached his roommate while holding the scissors in a threatening and pointing manner saying “we can do whatever you want”. Blas-Morales remains jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.

19-year-old Josual Daniel Williams, of Ashland City, was found absolutely intoxicated beyond safety while yelling, screaming, and attempting to fight others on Broadway in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Sunday morning. He admitted to only being 19 and stated he had been out drinking throughout the downtown bars all night long. Officers asked him to stop yelling and being so disorderly, however, he refused and continued to escalate the level of his annoyance to the general public. Williams was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

30-year-old Billy Dean Woodard is charged with harassment after sending his ex-girlfriend threats, including one that stated he would “blow up the whole apartments because if I can’t have you nobody will”, and another saying he would continue to terrorize until he couldn’t terrorize her anymore, as long as she refused to be with him. Woodard is free on a $2,500 bond. Woodard recently had the same ex-girlfriend’s family charged with assault after he says they attacked him as he exited a bathroom at the residence.

Downtown Nashville has claimed another arrest in our #bspotter / #VisitMusicCity series documenting the public intoxication arrests in the city’s core which thrives on the sale of alcohol. 22-year-old Kennedy Thompson was found near the Hilton Garden Inn on KVB jumping out into the roadway and being belligerent, according to an arrest report. Police attempted to divert him to medical care, but he refused all services, resulting in an arrest for public intoxication and resisting arrest, as he pulled away when they took him into custody. Thompson is free on pre-trial release.

Metro Nashville Police say 22-year-old Walter Bryce Harrill got into an argument with another patron at Play Dance Bar on Church Street, and when security attempted to break up the altercation, he punched the employee in the face, leaving an injury and breaking his $655 prescription eyeglasses. Harrill was detained until police arrived, and was heavily intoxicated. He is charged with public intoxication, vandalism, and assault Harrill is free on pre-trial release.

Woman rams gate of Antioch Apartments when she feels threatened by security, she’s arrested — Emi Amador Canales

19-year-old Emi Amador Canales arrived at her gated apartment community, The Club Apartments in Antioch, at 4 a.m. but was unable to get the gate to open. She began honking her horn, alerting AEGIS Security Officer Jonathan Rickaway who began shining a light in her car, and causing the situation to quickly escalate as words were exchanged and she smacked the flashlight from his hand, hitting him in the arm. Taking offense to her reaction, Rickaway took it upon himself to reach into her vehicle and attempt to put her vehicle in park.

In reaction to a man reaching inside her vehicle, she began fighting Rickaway and eventually rammed the gates with her vehicle in an attempt to flee away from this security guard. Rickaway got one cuff on her arm during the struggle, however, she escaped to the backseat and grabbed her loaded handgun. Police eventually arrived and charged Canales with assault and vandalism. Rickaway faced no charges. Canales is free on pre-trial release.

26-year-old Quimeshia Heard is charged with domestic assault after a citizen called police to report a couple was fighting inside a blue Hyundai Sonata which was traveling on a local roadway. Once officers located the vehicle and made a traffic stop, they found the victim driving the vehicle, identified as Kenneth Ferguson. He was bleeding and had visible injuries to his hands. Quimesha admitted they were arguing over “something stupid” when she punched him and then bit his hand while he was driving, causing a considerable injury. Heard is free on a $1,500 bond.

27-year-old Tanner Taliaferro told officers he had “one shot at work” when asked how much he had been drinking after an East Nashville traffic stop last weekend. He was pulled over due to an improper stop and crossing the center-line multiple times. Officers noted obvious signs of intoxication in an arrest report, and Taliaferro agreed to a breathalyzer which resulted in a BAC of 0.223 as the highest reading. He is free on pre-trial release.

Man walks in on wife while she’s Facetiming a naked man from their daughter’s room — Abel Aguilar

32-year-old faces a domestic assault charge after he reportedly walked in on his wife (they are married, but separated) in their daughter’s room while she was Facetiming with a man who was exposing himself. He grabbed the phone to speak to the man, and ultimately tossed it to the ground, destroying it. Over the course of the next two days, there were multiple arguments, and Abel says his wife pushed him against a wall while acting belligerently and screaming, then called police on him.

His wife then called police to report that she returned home from work to find all of her belongings in the common living room, and as she began to move them back into other rooms of the home, she says he pushed her, she pushed him back, at which time he punched her in the eye and broke her glasses. Aguilar is charged with two counts of vandalism and domestic assault. He is free on a $2,000 cash bond.

He admitted drinking prior to the crash, and to a prior DUI in the state of Kentucky. He was unable to complete standard field sobriety tests, however, a blood draw was completed at General Hospital before he was transported to booking.

Woman charged with stealing pills, destroying home of woman who helped her with shelter during storm — Kayla Pemberton

27-year-old Kayla Pemberton was booked into the Meto Nashville Jail Tuesday on several outstanding warrants which stemmed from her stay with a South Nashville resident. Warrants allege that in February a resident allowed Pemberton and her son to temporarily stay with her for a few days due to the winter storms. When she advised them they had to leave when the storms were over, Pemberton allegedly became angry and started “destroying the apartment” by throwing things around and breaking them, including cups and an ashtray, which caused damage to the carpet.

The victim, who is in a wheelchair, says Pemberton pushed her which caused bruising to her arms, and took a bottle of approximately 50 prescription pills and food before finally leaving the apartment as requested. Officers documented the disarray of the apartment, including broken dishes on the floor. Kayla Pemberton is charged with assault, theft, and vandalism, and is free on a $3,000 bond.

Woman charged with DUI-2nd after found unconscious behind the wheel in West Nashville — Leann Bernard

41-year-old State of Tennessee employee Leann ‘Lee-Lea’ Bernard was found unconscious behind the wheel of her vehicle in West Nashville, and medics alerted police when they revived her and she was stumbling around with no obvious medical reason. She eventually admitted to officers she had been drinking, and they located two empty beer cans and one nearly empty bottle of vodka in the vehicle. Bernard pleaded guilty to a prior DUI in July of 2019. She was given pre-trial release on the new charge. Bernard is a software developer under the Department of Finance, according to state records.
